Our editorial rules

  1. No picks, ratings or rankings. We never name a security as something to buy, sell or hold, and we don't publish "top" lists.
  2. No market data. No prices, yields or performance figures for real companies. Examples use hypothetical companies and round numbers.
  3. Primary sources, dated. Every tax rule cites the CRA, IRS, the treaty text or a regulator, with the date we checked it.
  4. Estimates are labelled. Each calculator lists its method and what it leaves out.
  5. Corrections are welcome. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us.

What changed

Earlier versions of this site showed stock rankings, a screener and stock pages built on sample data that was not sourced or dated. In October 2026 we replaced them with education, original infographics and calculators that use your own numbers. Old addresses such as /screener and /top-stocks now explain how to do that research yourself.
